Pancake Day!

Today is pancake day, which, obviously, celebrates that day in 1407 when Sir Pancake did slain a dragon using only lemons (and a little sprinkle of sugar).

Sir Pancake had planned to fight the dragon on the Monday, but after a heavy night in the local tavern he woke on the local harlot’s floor, with no memory or indeed pants so decided to put it off till Tuesday.

The fight between Sir Pancake and the dragon was fierce and lasted many hours. After getting his sword caught in a tree it looked like Sir Pancake was done for, but quick thinking (or maybe a trip and a stumble) he squirted lemon in the dragons eyes, unable to see the dragon tripped over a cliff to it’s death.

The villagers rejoiced and cooked a feast to celebrate. The feast consisted of batter mix spread on a hotplate as the dragon had eaten all the fish earlier that month, which the batter was intended for, this cooked batter was hence forth called pancakes and often eaten with a squirt of lemon.

True Story.
