Hey adventurers across the pond,
We’ve got a bit of a quest update for our US-based party members. Starting 29 August, the United States is changing the rules of the game when it comes to importing goods. Specifically, they’re removing something called the “de minimis threshold”, which sounds like a spell from a bureaucratic wizard, but here’s what it actually means:
What’s Changing?
Until now, packages valued under $800 could enter the US without triggering duties or taxes. That’s been super helpful for small businesses like ours—and for you, the heroes stocking up on dice, minis, and magical merch without worrying about surprise fees.
But from 29 August onward, every package entering the US may be subject to duties and taxes, no matter how small. Yes, even that single shimmering d20 could now come with extra costs.
Why We're Hitting Pause
We want your experience with BlueCyborg to be legendary, not marred by unexpected charges at the border. So, from Monday 25th August 2025, we’re temporarily halting all US-bound shipping while we:
- Figure out how to calculate these new taxes accurately
- Find shipping partners who offer Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) service, meaning all fees are handled upfront, and your parcel arrives without drama
- Update our systems to make everything smooth, transparent, and fair
What Happens Next?
We’re already deep in the tavern basement (aka spreadsheets and shipping contracts) working on solutions. Once we’ve locked in reliable partners and built the tools to handle these new tariffs, we’ll resume shipping to the US, with full clarity on costs and no nasty surprises.
Stay in the Loop
If you’re in the US and want to be the first to know when shipping resumes, sign up for our newsletter or follow us on socials. We’ll keep you posted like a raven with a scroll.
Thanks for your patience, your support, and your epic taste in tabletop gear. We’ll be back soon, with smarter shipping and even more loot.
Stay magical,
The BlueCyborg Team
