Two Thin Coats Wave 3 Is Coming Back to BlueCyborg

Two Thin Coats Wave 3 Is Coming Back to BlueCyborg

Good news for miniature painters, Two Thin Coats Wave 3 is finally heading back to BlueCyborg.

We have backed the Two Thin Coats: 5 Years Gamefound campaign, which means that once the campaign is delivered, we should have all 60 Wave 3 paints back in stock.

Current estimated delivery is around October 2026, although as with any campaign fulfilment, that is an estimate rather than a guaranteed date.

Is backing a campaign our preferred way of getting shop stock? Not really.

We would usually rather order through the normal channels, receive the stock, check it in, and get it straight onto the site. Simple. Predictable. Nice and boring.

But Wave 3 has been a bit of a problem for us for quite some time now, and rather than keep waiting for the usual supply chain to sort itself out, we have jumped in and backed the campaign so we can get the full range moving again.

Our Wave 3 Stock Has Been Pretty Dire

At the moment, we only have 31 of the 60 Wave 3 colours in stock.

That is not ideal when people are trying to pick up specific paints, finish a colour triad, replace a favourite shade, or build out their paint collection properly. Half a range is not much use when the colour you actually need is one of the missing ones.

It got to the point where we stopped taking Wave 3 to our pop-up events, because turning up with such an incomplete selection felt a bit pointless. If people are browsing paints in person, they need enough choice for it to be worth the space.

So yes, this restock is overdue.

If You Want the Whole of Wave 3, Back the Campaign

This is the honest bit.

If you want the whole of Two Thin Coats Wave 3, the best option is probably to jump on the Gamefound campaign while it is available.

We are backing it so we can bring Wave 3 back into stock for BlueCyborg customers, but we are not going to be able to beat the campaign price for the full lot. That is just the reality of buying wholesale stock for the shop, then selling it as individual paints and smaller sets.

There is also a practical problem. If everyone waits until our Wave 3 stock arrives and then tries to grab the whole 60-paint range from us at once, there is a good chance we will run out again before the regular supply channels have properly reopened.

So our recommendation is simple:

If you want all 60 paints, back the Gamefound campaign.

If you need replacement paints, missing colours, or just a few useful additions, we will be here for you.

That is where BlueCyborg should be most useful once the stock lands: keeping the range available for hobbyists who need individual bottles, top-ups, and the odd “that is exactly the colour I was missing” paint.

What Is Coming Back?

Once the campaign is delivered, we are expecting to bring back the full Two Thin Coats Wave 3 range of 60 paints.

Wave 3 includes a wide mix of useful miniature painting colours, including shadows, midtones, highlights, brights, metallics, washes and effects. It is the sort of range that fills gaps, whether you are painting armies, characters, monsters, terrain, display pieces, or one lonely model you promised yourself would only take an evening.

When Will Wave 3 Be Back?

The campaign currently points towards delivery around October 2026, so this is not an immediate restock.

We are not going to pretend the paints are sitting here waiting to go out. They are not. This is still tied to the campaign being delivered, and dates can move with campaign fulfilment.

Once the stock arrives with us, we will get it checked in, updated on the site, and made available as quickly as possible.

Why We Wanted to Make This Happen

Two Thin Coats has become a strong part of our paint range because it is useful paint for miniature painters. Good coverage, proper dropper bottles, and colours designed for the kind of painting hobbyists actually do.

Wave 3 being incomplete has been frustrating, because it is a genuinely handy part of the range. There are colours in there for armour, leather, cloth, skin, monsters, bright effects, shadows, highlights, metallic details, washes and varnishes. In other words, all the little jobs where “near enough” is never quite near enough.

Keep an Eye on the Wave 3 Range

If your Two Thin Coats collection has a few Wave 3-shaped holes in it, help is on the way.

We will update the site once we have clearer delivery information, and once the campaign stock arrives, Wave 3 should finally be back properly.

No half-measures. No sad gaps. No “we’ve got some of it” nonsense.

Just the full Wave 3 range, back where it belongs, and individual paints available for the painters who need them.
