Dunfermline Comic Con, New Dice, and the Ongoing War Against Stock Boxes

Dunfermline Comic Con, New Dice, and the Ongoing War Against Stock Boxes

Since Paisley Comic Con, I have been working flat out in what can only be described as approximately 1000 degree heat.

That may not be an official Met Office measurement, but it feels accurate enough when you are surrounded by stock boxes, dice trays, display stands, packaging, labels, and the quiet creeping realisation that the next event is already nearly here.

So, next stop: Dunfermline Comic Con, hosted by BGCP at Kingsgate Shopping Centre.

I’ll be there with the BlueCyborg popup stall, hopefully looking slightly more organised than I feel, and with a boat load of new dice hitting the shelves for this one.

New dice, because apparently I thought I had free time

There has been a lot of dice listing going on behind the scenes this week. Metal dice, liquid core dice, dragon eyes, strange goblin nonsense, massive chonky D20s, the lot.

Some of the new arrivals include:

Stormglass Chonk 55mm Liquid Core D20

Stormglass Chonk - 55mm Liquid Core D20
A big smoky 55mm D20 with a shifting liquid core. Not subtle, but chonks rarely are.

Dragon Eye Prismatic Gaze Moving Eye Liquid Core Resin Dice Set

Dragon Eye - Prismatic Gaze - Moving Eye - Liquid Core Resin Dice Set
For anyone who likes their dice to stare back.

Bloodthorn Crimson Black Metal Dice Set

Bloodthorn - Crimson Black - Metal Dice Set
Dark, sharp-looking, and not exactly pretending to be friendly.

Whale Song Drift Whale and Jellyfish Liquid Core Resin Dice Set

Whale Song Drift - Whale & Jellyfish Liquid Core Resin Dice Set
Calm ocean dice energy, until the dice betray you like all dice eventually do.

There are more than that, because apparently I have no sense of restraint once the dice start appearing on the desk.

The plan: fewer boxes, more things actually on display

One thing I’m hoping to improve for Dunfermline is the amount of stock that actually makes it onto the stall.

At some events, especially with a tight setup window, there is always that horrible moment where customers start arriving and I’m still opening boxes behind the table like some sort of underprepared loot gremlin.

Some stock gets displayed, some stock makes it to the event but never quite makes it out of the box, and some stock sits behind the stall quietly judging me all day.

I’m trying to avoid that this time.

The goal for Dunfermline is simple: get more of the good stuff out where people can actually see it, make the dice easier to browse, and spend less of the day rummaging through boxes like I’m searching for a cursed artefact at the bottom of a dungeon chest.

Come find us at Kingsgate Shopping Centre

If you’re heading to Dunfermline Comic Con, come and find the BlueCyborg popup stall at Kingsgate Shopping Centre.

There will be dice. There will be tabletop bits. There will probably be a carefully maintained illusion of organisation. There may even be fewer unopened boxes behind the stall this time, but let’s not get too ambitious.

As always, if you spot something online and want to grab it in person, feel free to ask at the stall. Some pieces are one-offs or very low stock, especially the newer dice sets, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.

See you in Dunfermline.
